Udzungwa Mountains National Park entry fees
All TANAPA charges are published VAT-exclusive and 18% is added when you pay. A $30 conservation fee is $35.40 at the counter, and the compulsory $20 guide fee is $23.60.
If you only want the answer
The cheapest real trip on this network: $30 plus 18% VAT per person per day, no vehicle fee because there are no roads inside, camping $35.40, plus the mandatory guide fees per trail. Two nights and the Sanje trail come to about $330 for two.

Udzungwa sits in TANAPA's lower-priced tier alongside Katavi, Mikumi, Ruaha, Saadani, Kitulo and Mkomazi, so it costs half what the northern circuit parks charge. Note that Tanzania is not a separate rate: TANAPA folds Tanzanian citizens into the East African Community category, which also covers Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan. Bring your passport, because ID is checked. Expatriates need a Class A, B or C residence permit, an exemption certificate, a temporary pass with receipt and acknowledgement letter, or a diplomatic passport.

TANAPA's own website says $50. Here is why we still say $30.
The Udzungwa page on tanzaniaparks.go.tz currently lists $50 for international adults. The official TANAPA tariff sheet says $30 plus 18% VAT.
Udzungwa is the one Tanzanian park page where that block does not simply repeat the Serengeti rate, so it may be closer to something real. It still does not match the published tariff.
Budget $35.40 per adult per day and carry enough for $59 in case the gate asks the higher rate. If you are charged $50, tell us and we will correct this page.

The trail camps you sleep at on the Mwanihana and Lumemo routes (Njokamoni Wilderness Camp, Mwanihana Base Camp, Campsite 3 and Njia Panda) are charged as campsites at the rates above. They have no facilities, so you carry everything, including water.

There is no rescue fee for Udzungwa. TANAPA lists one only for Kilimanjaro and Meru. Night walks are not offered here at all, so the night-drive tariff line you see for savanna parks does not apply.

Fees are the one thing park authorities change without telling anyone, and some of them publish nothing at all.
Ask us. We answer questions about the park itself, and we can usually tell you which camps work on one route and who to write to. If what you want is a trip someone else arranges, we will say so and hand you to an operator we know, and we earn a commission if that becomes a booking.
