A walking park with no game-drive roads, two endemic primates, and fees taken from the current TANAPA sheet.
What this site is
An independent guide to Udzungwa with no commercial stake. A site calling itself the park's official website still publishes fees from roughly a decade ago, which is a good illustration of why this one exists.
How we source the trail detail
Park fees come from the TANAPA tariff document itself rather than from copied operator pages, and every fees page shows when we last checked it. That matters more here than in most places. A site that presents itself as Udzungwa's official website still publishes a $20 entry fee and a $10 guide fee, both roughly a decade out of date, and plenty of other pages have copied it.
If TANAPA has not published it, we do not print it. TANAPA publishes no monthly rainfall data for Udzungwa, no gate opening hours, and no vehicle fee for this park, so you will find those gaps named on the relevant pages rather than filled with plausible-looking guesses.
We also correct the things that circulate and are simply wrong. At least one site lists lions and kudu here, which are savanna animals in a montane rainforest park. Wikipedia gives 2012 as the founding year when the official brochure gives 21 October 1992. The kipunji monkey is regularly attached to Udzungwa itineraries when it lives in a separate reserve outside the national park.
